The title of this book is prophetic.  The book felt as illusory and ephemeral as the title suggests.

Amber is a the head of a prestigious non-profit agency that has purchased a property that needs renovation.  Kevin is the owner of the small contracting company that has successfully bid to do the work.  They meet, they clash, they lust, they have sex, he calls her "Sweetpea' a lot, he spanks her. she likes it.  The end.

The sad thing is that there was some actual potential to the story.  It starts out promisingly enough with the writer establishing the characters strongly.  There is even some engaging chemistry.

But then story never really goes anywhere after that.  Yes, Amber and Kevin are hot for each other and hit the sheets rather quickly, but that is all really.  There is no real plot or substance.  Worse, the story unfolds in a series of disconnected scenes that jump from place to place and forward in time. There was no cohesion.And Amber and Kevin have little to no depth as characters.

Ironically, I got this novella because I first came across the longer book that tells the rest of  Amber and Kevin's and figured I read their meeting before getting to the longer book.  Now I am not really tempted to follow through.
