BookaDay - Day 8

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson Series #1) - Darynda Jones The Bride - Julie Garwood A Civil Campaign - Lois McMaster Bujold One for the Money - Janet Evanovich Field of Dishonor - David Weber

Never fails to cheer me up

Not all the books on this list are "funny", but they all make me feel happy deep inside.

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, Book 1) - Darynda Jones  - Is flat out hysterical. And an awesome start to a series that also manages to have a deep mytharc and still maintain the funny.

The Bride - Julie Garwood  - The first historical romance that I was thought was actually funny  Yes, Heyer wrote some really witty comedy-of-manners books, but this one was LOL funny.

A Civil Campaign - Lois McMaster Bujold - The entire Miles Vorkosigan saga has a permanent place on my All Time Favorites of Everything shelf. Miles is my favorite fictional character, hands down. The whole series is a fantastic space opera romp, but this one is the one that sparkles.  The dinner party scene is worht the price of the book.

One for the Money - Janet Evanovich - When these first came out, I ate them up with a spoon.  This first one is cry-out-loud funny.  While I really can't stand the series anymore, I remember the first six or so extremely fondly.

Field of Dishonor - David Weber - this book is not funny.  Not even a little bit. But it cheers me up because it features one of my favorite women in fiction, Honor Harrington, at her most Badass! Sometimes you need the fist-pumping excitement of someone making justice happen by being Righteously Awesome.  And knowing how to shoot people.
